Contrary to popular (?) belief, Relish is not named after its co-founder, and current Artistic Director, Rob Ellis.

Instead, it was inspired by a pub at 79 Unthank Road, Norwich, called The Pickle And Relish. The pub was equidistant between the flats of Rob and Relish co-founder Samuel Masters, and they would pass it on their way to each other’s respective homes.

Its more than that though. Relish is a verb - its enjoyment, love, passion, consumption. Its grabbing hold of something with both hands and making the most of it. Its ensuring you take every opportunity to own your experience. Its present. Its happening. Its now.

And it sounds a lot better than Pickle Theatre.
